In a significant move towards revolutionizing water technology, Xylem Innovation Labs reveals the twelve startups chosen for its 2024 Accelerator Program cohort.

The initiative, launched in 2022, is designed to expedite the introduction of groundbreaking technologies addressing critical challenges in water utilities, industrial water usage, and communities globally.

Innovations Shaping the Future: Advanced Pathogen Detection, Leak Detection, and AI-driven Predictions

The 2024 cohort introduces cutting-edge technologies, including advanced pathogen detection, innovative leak detection materials, and artificial intelligence capable of predicting floods, inspecting pipelines, and simplifying regulatory compliance reporting.

The startups will convene in March for the Accelerator Symposium, fostering collaboration among Xylem colleagues, customers, and the water innovation ecosystem.

Addressing Pain Points in Water Technology Adoption: Xylem’s Collaborative Approach

Xylem’s Accelerator Program aims to overcome challenges in technology adoption within the water industry by fostering collaboration across the innovation journey.

Through partnerships with universities, startups, and tech companies, Xylem provides mentorship, interactive workshops, and commercial demonstrations to refine, optimize, and scale solutions.

Program Impact: Supporting 35 Companies Across 13 Countries

Since its inception, the Accelerator Program has supported 35 companies from 13 countries, showcasing successes such as the collaboration with EOMAP, a Germany-based software company utilizing satellite data for holistic water quality assessments.

Xylem’s global impact extends to partnerships with oceanic research institutes, environmental protection agencies, and national water authorities across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.

Xylem Extends Invitation to Student Innovators Worldwide

Beyond the startup realm, Xylem invites high school and university students worldwide to contribute solutions to major global water challenges through the 2024 Global Student Innovation Challenge.

Innovators aged 13-25 can submit ideas addressing issues like plastic ocean waste, greenhouse gas emissions, and water waste.

The challenge, starting on March 15, provides mentorship from industry experts, with top teams eligible for a $20,000 prize pool and entry into the Xylem Ignite Innovation Incubator. Submissions are accepted until May 8, 2024.
