Kanye West has roped in only the best for his upcoming Donda 2. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Ye mentioned that rapper Future would be the executive producer on the album.
Other producers on the album include DJ Khaled, Mike Dean, who has worked with Kanye before, DJ Premier and Digital Nas.
TRACKLIST AND FEATURES
Kanye West released the Donda 2 tracklist on Friday 18 February. As per the tracklist posted on Instagram, Ye is set to have 22 tracks on the album.
Although he has not revealed too much about who will feature on the album, fans can expect to hear rock artist Marilyn Manson.
Producer Digital Nas told Rolling Stone: “He wants Marilyn to play what he wants and then Ye will take that and sample parts of that and use parts of that like he did [generally when making] Yeezus.”
Donda 2 is set to be released on 22 February 2022. The Grammy-winning rapper explained that there is a significance behind the release date on an Instagram story.
“According to the stars, the United States is finally getting a spiritual makeover with its first-ever Pluto Return on 22 February 2022. Astrologically, a Pluto Return is when the heavenly body returns to the same position in a birth chart where it was when the chart began,” wrote Kanye.
Kanye West shared on Instagram that Apple Music has pulled their sponsorship deal for his upcoming album but…There are plans for Donda 2 to be released on the rapper’s own streaming platform, Stem Player.
As per National World, Stem Player isn’t “actually” a streaming platform. It is a small device that allows its users to split the songs into “stems”. The device also lets users control the vocals, drums and bass of the songs.
As per Ye’s Instagram, Stem Player made over $2 million (R302 million) in 24 hours. One Stem Player is available for $200 (Roughly R3000).
