Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had carried out a series of long-range strikes targeting military and logistical infrastructure in Russian-controlled areas and inside Russia, describing the operations as a response to continued Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure.
According to Zelenskyy, the coordinated missions reached multiple locations across Russian territory, occupied Ukrainian land, and maritime areas, demonstrating Ukraine’s ability to strike far beyond the front lines.
Logistics Centers Targeted Deep Inside Russia
The Ukrainian president said two major logistics facilities were successfully hit in Russia’s Moscow and Tambov regions. He noted that the sites are located more than 500 kilometers and nearly 700 kilometers from the active battlefield.
Zelenskyy stated that the facilities were used by Russia to supply sanctioned components required for drone manufacturing, as well as equipment used for navigation systems. He also reported that an oil facility was struck during the operation, though he did not provide additional details about the extent of the damage.
Operations Extended to Occupied Crimea and Strategic Waters
Beyond targets inside Russia, Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces also conducted strikes against objectives in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, as well as in Crimea, which Russia has occupied since 2014.
The operations, he said, formed part of a broader effort to weaken Russia’s military capabilities across several operational theaters while increasing pressure on logistical networks supporting the war effort.
Ukrainian Defense Forces Credited for Joint Mission
Zelenskyy praised the coordination among several branches of Ukraine’s security and defense institutions, crediting the success of the missions to their combined efforts.
He specifically thanked the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine for carrying out what he described as precise and synchronized strikes.
Kyiv Links Strikes to Russian Attacks on Civilian Areas
The Ukrainian leader said the latest operations were conducted in direct response to Russian missile and drone attacks that have repeatedly targeted Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, cities, and communities.
Ukraine has increasingly relied on long-range precision strikes against military, industrial, and logistical targets deep inside Russian-held territory, arguing that such operations are intended to disrupt Russia’s ability to sustain its military campaign while responding to attacks on Ukrainian civilians.
Zelenskyy concluded his statement by expressing gratitude to Ukraine’s defense personnel and repeating the national slogan, “Glory to Ukraine.”
