The highly anticipated UfM Energy and Climate Business Forum 2025 is set to take place on 12 May 2025 as part of the Kuwait Sustainable Energy Week (KSEW).

This event aims to bring together key stakeholders from the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions to tackle the urgent challenges surrounding energy transition and climate resilience.

This year’s forum builds on the success of previous editions and is being organized in collaboration with RCREEE under the patronage of the Kuwaiti Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy.

It will offer a platform for fostering cross-regional collaboration, supporting the development of the private sector, and promoting sustainable energy solutions.

The forum will provide opportunities to unlock business deals through high-level dialogues, workshops, and investment facilitation.

The Call for Proposals is open to innovative solutions from UfM member countries that focus on the themes of energy transition, climate resilience, and sustainable development.

Selected proposals will be presented in structured discussions aimed at fostering partnerships and securing financing.

The proposals should:

  • Address regional challenges in renewable energy, climate adaptation, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Demonstrate feasibility, scalability, and alignment with the UfM’s mission.
  • Promote cross-sector collaboration to contribute to the region’s sustainability goals.

Key Themes of the Proposals

The selected proposals will focus on several important areas:

  • Renewable Energy Partnerships: Projects in solar, wind, and green hydrogen energy.
  • Climate Resilience Solutions: Adaptation projects in water management, agriculture, and urban cooling.
  • Sustainable Infrastructure: Initiatives in smart cities, low-carbon transport, and resilient urban planning.
  • Integrated Energy-Water Solutions: Innovations in the water-energy nexus, including desalination and energy efficiency.

Elevating Youth Innovation: Elevator Pitches for Young Entrepreneurs

Another key feature of the forum will be the Elevator Pitches for Young Entrepreneurs, a dynamic platform dedicated to youth-led innovation in green energy and climate resilience.

This session provides an exciting opportunity for young entrepreneurs to showcase their startups and projects to a panel of investors, industry leaders, and business experts.

  • Pitch Presentations: Entrepreneurs will have 2-3 minutes to pitch their ideas, followed by a Q&A session with international experts.

How to Get Involved: Eligibility and Application Process

The Call for Proposals is open to young entrepreneurs aged 18-35 from UfM member countries.

Interested participants must submit their comprehensive proposals by 7 March 2025.

The selected entrepreneurs will be invited to present at the Business Forum, with their costs covered by the UfM.

Beyond the event, successful participants may also receive ongoing support such as mentorship, incubation opportunities, and valuable connections with investors and business leaders.
