Spencer Pratt Claims California’s Negligence Led to the Loss of His Home in Pacific Palisades Wildfires, Announces Lawsuit

Spencer Pratt has revealed his intention to take legal action against the State of California following the tragic destruction of his home in the Pacific Palisades wildfires.

The former reality star, who is married to Heidi Montag, has stated that he believes the state’s negligence contributed to the devastating loss of his residence.

Desperate Calls for Help

In an emotional interview with blogger Perez Hilton, Pratt shared his distressing experience of trying to save his home.

As he watched the fire rage on, he desperately called for help from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

According to Pratt, the firefighters never arrived, and his home burned down while he helplessly watched through his security cameras.

“They never came. The gate was still locked. They never came,” Pratt recalled.

He added that despite calling 911 and urging the department to send at least one fire truck to his street to prevent the fire from spreading, his request was denied.

Pratt claims he was told the fire department did not have enough resources to respond.

The Devastation

The fire completely destroyed the couple’s $3 million home, leaving behind only the charred remnants of the gate and a portion of the stucco wall.

Piles of debris and burned foliage now mark the once-beautiful property.

Tragically, Pratt’s parents also lost their home to the fire, adding to the family’s overwhelming loss.

Political Backlash

Pratt’s decision to sue comes amid widespread criticism of the lack of preparedness and rapid response from local officials.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is facing backlash for her handling of the wildfires, while President-elect Donald Trump has blamed California Governor Gavin Newsom for the devastating blazes.

The wildfires, which have caused significant destruction across California, have already scorched thousands of acres and caused billions of dollars in damages.

The Palisades Fire, which started in Pacific Palisades, is the largest of the four blazes, burning homes from Malibu to Santa Monica.

As of Friday evening, the fire was only 8% contained.

Heidi Montag’s Emotional Reaction

In a series of emotional TikTok videos, Heidi Montag expressed her shock and sadness over the loss of their home.

With tears in her eyes, Montag shared her grief, saying, “Sad our house is gone.”

She reflected on the pain of losing everything they had worked so hard for.

Her son provided some comfort during the emotional moment, and Montag ended the video with a small smile.

In another video, Montag reassured her followers that she and her family were safe, despite losing their home.

“While we ended up losing our house in the fire, thank God we are safe,” she said.

“Thank you to everyone who’s checking in, thank you for your thoughts. No words.”

Spencer Pratt Tries to Find Comfort

Amid the devastation, Spencer Pratt attempted to lift his spirits by indulging in a simple pleasure—a bag of bagels.

He acknowledged the shock he was experiencing, admitting his video might seem “unhinged.”

“When your house burns down and you have nothing and your parents’ house burns down and they have nothing, there’s only one thing that can maybe make you feel better—a bag of bagels!” he laughed.

The Bigger Picture

As the fire continues to ravage the Pacific Palisades area, over 30,000 residents have been forced to evacuate their homes.

Nearly 3,000 acres have been burned, and dozens of homes have been reduced to rubble.

While Pratt and Montag’s family managed to evacuate safely, they are left to process the immense loss, not only of their home but also of a sense of security in their community.
