Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of intensifying its military campaign after overnight attacks were reported across 10 Ukrainian regions, leaving civilians dead or injured and damaging residential and public infrastructure.
Among the locations hit were Zaporizhzhia and Lozova in the Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian authorities reported damage to apartment buildings, educational facilities, railway infrastructure and other civilian sites.
Zelenskyy said the latest attacks demonstrated what he described as continued Russian escalation, while calling for international pressure on Moscow to continue alongside diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war.
Overnight Attack Causes Extensive Damage in Zaporizhzhia
Zaporizhzhia suffered significant damage after attacks began during the evening and continued into the night.
According to Zelenskyy, nine-story residential buildings were damaged along with a university facility, shopping mall and boiler house.
Emergency operations were launched in affected areas, while some residents were evacuated from damaged buildings.
Initial information cited by Zelenskyy put the number of injured at five, although subsequent regional reporting raised the figure to six.
Residential Buildings and University Among Sites Hit
The attack caused damage across several civilian locations in Zaporizhzhia.
Images released by Ukrainian emergency and regional authorities showed damage to buildings and emergency personnel responding to fires and destruction.
A shopping centre and educational institution were among the locations affected, while several apartment buildings also sustained damage.
Emergency crews continued working at strike sites following the overnight assault.
Woman Killed in Drone Attack on Lozova
A separate attack in the Kharkiv region resulted in a civilian death.
Zelenskyy said a woman was killed when a drone struck Lozova, while three other people were injured.
Ukrainian prosecutors subsequently reported that Russia attacked the city with five drones believed to be Geran-type unmanned aircraft.
The strike damaged residential and office buildings as well as railway infrastructure.
Three People Injured in Kharkiv Region Strike
Authorities said the three surviving victims suffered varying injuries following the Lozova attack.
According to Ukrainian prosecutors, two women experienced acute stress reactions, while a 62-year-old man was physically injured.
An investigation has been opened by Ukrainian authorities into the attack.
Zelenskyy offered condolences to the family and relatives of the woman who died.
Zelenskyy Says 10 Ukrainian Regions Were Targeted
The Ukrainian president said the incidents in Zaporizhzhia and Lozova formed part of a much broader night of attacks.
According to Zelenskyy, Russian forces targeted 10 Ukrainian regions from the evening through the overnight period.

Zelenskyy Calls for Continued Pressure on Moscow
The Ukrainian leader said international pressure remained necessary if Russia was to be pushed toward ending the conflict.
He argued that Ukraine’s responses and what he called “long-range sanctions” were contributing to that pressure.
Kyiv has increasingly relied on domestically produced long-range drones and missiles to attack military, logistics and energy targets inside Russia.
The latest Russian attacks followed a massive Ukrainian drone operation against Russia over the weekend, which included hundreds of drones directed toward Moscow and strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.
Diplomacy Must Continue Alongside Military Pressure
Despite calling for continued pressure on Russia, Zelenskyy said diplomatic efforts must proceed simultaneously.
He argued that military and economic pressure should not replace negotiations aimed at finding a path toward peace.
The Ukrainian president is expected to use meetings surrounding the United Nations General Assembly to push the issue with international leaders.

Zelenskyy said achieving peace through coordinated international action would be a central subject for Ukraine during the UN gathering.
“At the UN General Assembly, we will discuss how we can achieve peace through joint efforts,” he said.
He described that objective as a responsibility that world leaders should be working toward collectively.
The UN meetings come as diplomatic efforts to contain the conflict continue against the backdrop of intensifying drone and missile attacks by both sides.
