Queen Camilla enjoyed another day at Wimbledon on Wednesday, continuing a long-standing royal tradition by attending the Championships with her younger sister, Annabel Elliot.
The pair took their seats in the prestigious Royal Box on day 10 of the tournament, where they watched the action unfold on Centre Court alongside other distinguished guests.
The Queen, 78, embraced the summer occasion in a vibrant cerulean blue dress by Anna Valentine, a design she had previously worn during Royal Ascot last month.
Annabel Elliot, 77, complemented the occasion in an elegant ivory dress inspired by the classic white tones associated with tennis.
Warm Welcome for the Queen at Centre Court
Before settling in to watch the matches, Queen Camilla received an official welcome from All England Lawn Tennis Club Chair Deborah Jevans.
The visit also included meetings with several people whose work contributes to the Championships each year.
Among those introduced to the Queen were former British tennis star Heather Watson, 15-year-old ball boy Zebedee and 15-year-old ball girl Aniya.
Camilla also spent time speaking with Morag Ranford, who has dedicated five decades to Wimbledon’s press operations team, as well as Peter Dobson, the tournament’s retiring Safety Officer after 25 years of service.
The Queen additionally met Richard Gammage, chief executive of City Harvest, the charity responsible for helping redistribute surplus food from this year’s Championships to communities in need.
Peter and Harriet Phillips Continue Busy Royal Summer
Adding to the royal attendance were Peter Phillips and his wife Harriet, whose recent marriage has made them one of the most closely watched couples within royal circles.
Peter, 48, opted for a light grey blazer paired with navy trousers, while Harriet wore a striking checked lime and blue Emilia Wickstead outfit reportedly valued at £1,330.
Their Wimbledon appearance follows a series of high-profile engagements since their June wedding, including joining King Charles III and Queen Camilla during Royal Ascot.
Their marriage ceremony was held in the Cotswolds in front of close family members, including the King and Queen.
Harriet wore an elegant white Emilia Wickstead wedding gown together with the historic Pragnell family tiara, while the couple celebrated outside All Saints Church surrounded by family.
Peter’s daughters, Savannah and Isla, joined Harriet’s daughter Georgina as bridesmaids, wearing coordinated white dresses and floral garlands that complemented the intimate celebration.
Their growing public profile was further highlighted last week when Tatler described them as one of the royal family’s rising couples to watch.
Wimbledon Remains a Favourite Royal Tradition
For Queen Camilla and Annabel Elliot, attending Wimbledon has become an annual tradition.
The sisters are regularly seen together in the Royal Box and are known to share a particularly close relationship, making their appearances one of the familiar features of the Championships each summer.
Their outing once again reflected the close family ties that have become increasingly visible during public engagements over recent years.
Queen’s Schedule Includes Literary and Community Engagements
The Wimbledon visit followed another busy royal engagement just a day earlier in East Sussex, where Queen Camilla marked the centenary of the first publication of Winnie-the-Pooh.
She visited Ashdown Forest near Hartfield, the landscape that inspired A. A. Milne’s fictional Hundred Acre Wood.
As Patron of the Royal Literary Fund, the Queen met local schoolchildren, greeted members of the public and joined author and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth during the commemorative event, which celebrated 100 years since the beloved children’s classic first appeared in 1926.
Return to Childhood Village Receives Warm Reception
Following the literary celebration, Queen Camilla also made a stop at The Half Moon pub in Plumpton, the Sussex village where she spent much of her childhood.
The visit attracted enthusiastic reactions from both staff and local residents.
The pub later described the Queen as “a real character” and “a lovely lady” after welcoming her for lunch, while social media users shared excitement over spotting the royal motorcade and helicopter arriving in the area.
Camilla grew up nearby at The Laines, a property she has previously described as “perfect in every way,” making the visit a personal return to familiar surroundings.
Annabel Elliot Reflects on the King’s Strongest Supporter
The sisters’ close relationship has often been evident during official occasions, including the Coronation, where Annabel Elliot served as one of Queen Camilla’s Ladies in Attendance.
Speaking in the 2024 BBC documentary Charles III: The Coronation Year, Annabel described her sister as King Charles III’s “rock,” praising Camilla’s unwavering loyalty and steady nature.
She also noted that the King has broadened Camilla’s interests through their shared life together, describing the couple as “yin and yang” whose contrasting personalities complement each other remarkably well.
Their appearance together at Wimbledon once again highlighted that enduring family bond while reinforcing the Championships’ place as one of the royal family’s favourite events on the British summer calendar.
