The Princess of Wales made a stylish return to one of Prince William’s longest-running charity events on Friday, supporting her husband at the annual Royal Charity Polo Cup in Windsor.

The appearance came on the same day that Prince Harry was in Birmingham promoting the upcoming Invictus Games, highlighting two separate public engagements involving the royal brothers.

Princess of Wales Makes First Polo Appearance in Two Years

Catherine attended the charity polo match for the first time since 2023, choosing a relaxed summer look that contrasted with her usual formal public wardrobe.

The Princess wore a sleeveless gingham dress by Temperley, paired with Camilla Elphick slingback heels, as she watched the action from the sidelines.

She was joined by Prince William’s equerry, Squadron Leader Mike Reynolds, while remaining close to the pitch throughout the afternoon to support the Prince of Wales during the annual fundraiser.

Prince William Takes to the Field for Annual Charity Match

Before the match began, Prince William greeted guests wearing a beige jacket, blue shirt and navy trousers before changing into his navy number four polo jersey and traditional jodhpurs to compete.

The event marked William’s 15th appearance at the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup, which has become one of the most significant fundraising occasions supporting charitable organizations championed by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Among those attending the Windsor fixture were Peter Phillips and his wife Harriet Sperling, who married last month.

Harriet chose a pale blue shirt dress with tan sandals and completed her outfit with a straw handbag by Anya Hindmarch.

Millions Raised for Charities Supported by the Waleses

This year’s polo event is expected to push the total amount raised through the annual tournament beyond £15 million.

Funds generated will benefit ten charities supported by William and Catherine, including Wales Air Ambulance and Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Catherine recently visited Evelina London, where she met young patients and highlighted the hospital’s ongoing expansion plans.

Catherine Continues Public Return Following Cancer Recovery

The Windsor appearance reflects Catherine’s continued return to public duties after announcing last year that she had undergone treatment for cancer following abdominal surgery.

Now in remission, the Princess has gradually resumed engagements over recent months.

She recently completed the Three Peaks Challenge as part of her campaign to encourage hope and resilience for people recovering from cancer.

Prince Harry Leads Invictus Games Countdown in Birmingham

While the Prince and Princess of Wales were in Windsor, Prince Harry was more than 100 miles away in Birmingham launching the official one-year countdown to the next Invictus Games.

The Duke of Sussex took part in a wheelchair rugby exhibition match at the National Exhibition Centre, enthusiastically joining competitors and helping his team secure a convincing 7-1 victory.

Harry also scored tries during the match and entertained spectators with his energetic performance.

Rugby Display Earns Praise From Paralympian

One of the standout moments came when Harry delivered a no-look pass over his head that set up a teammate for a score.

Former Paralympian and television presenter Ade Adepitan, who played alongside Harry, praised the move afterward, joking that although Harry described it as “a throw and hope,” he encouraged him to claim it was intentional because of how impressive it looked.

The exhibition formed part of a series of sporting demonstrations designed to showcase events that competitors and spectators can expect when Birmingham hosts the Invictus Games next year.

Meghan Expected to Arrive With Archie and Lilibet

Although Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, did not accompany Harry to Birmingham because of ongoing security concerns surrounding travel to the UK, she is reportedly expected to arrive later with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The anticipated visit has prompted speculation that King Charles could have an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren during their stay.

Harry Speaks Warmly About His Family

During an interview with ITV’s This Morning, presenter Alison Hammond asked Harry whether his family appreciated his work.

The Duke responded by saying they do not tell him every day that they are proud of him, but added that he is proud of them, believes they are proud of him, and emphasized that he loves his family.

Separate Royal Engagements Highlight Busy Day

Friday’s engagements illustrated how senior members of the Royal Family continued carrying out separate public responsibilities across England.

While William focused on raising millions for charities through the long-established Windsor polo tradition with Catherine by his side, Harry concentrated on building momentum for the next Invictus Games in Birmingham, continuing his longstanding commitment to wounded and injured service personnel.
