The Ebonyi State Police Command announces the successful arrest of six individuals suspected of being involved in kidnapping and armed robbery.

Commissioner of Police Faleye Olayele provides this information during a press conference held in Abakaliki.

The suspects were apprehended based on credible intelligence received by the command.


Olayele reveals that the arrests took place at a criminal hideout in Abakaliki, where various weapons were recovered.

Recovered Weapons and Suspects’ Identities

Commissioner Olayele discloses the weapons found at the hideout, which include locally fabricated firearms such as single barrel guns, a revolver pistol, and a pump-action gun.

Additionally, stun guns, live cartridges, and assorted mobile phones were seized.

The suspects involved in these criminal activities are identified as Nwanya Emmanuel, Kingsley Amezi, Okoro Ogbonna, Abraham Ogbonna, Uchenna Ekuma, and Samuel Ajah.


The investigation and interrogation of these individuals are ongoing.

Commissioner Olayele takes the opportunity to issue a stern warning to criminals, emphasizing that the state will not be a conducive environment for their activities.

Police Engagement with Armed Robbers in Gombe State


The Gombe State Police Command reports an incident in which operatives engaged suspected armed robbers.

In response to a distress call, the Commissioner of Police, Oqua Etim, mobilized the Operation 999 tactical team to the scene in Arawa quarters.

During the confrontation, one of the suspects was neutralized, while three others were arrested.

Six additional individuals managed to escape, sustaining gunshot wounds.

Robbery Incident and Arrests


The armed robbers targeted the residence of Alhaji Gidado Muhammad Sani in Arawa Quarters, Gombe, firing their weapons and stealing valuables.

The security guard, Mohammed Abdullahi, was injured during the incident.

The police swiftly responded to the distress call and successfully apprehended three members of the gang.

One of the robbers, known as Alias Albaru, was fatally shot, while Adamu Usman, Mustapha Abdullahi, and Abdullahi Hussaini were arrested.

The authorities are currently working to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover stolen items.
