Peter Phillips and his wife, Harriet Sperling, stepped out for a stylish evening in London as they attended the opening of a major exhibition celebrating traditional Chinese craftsmanship.

The couple visited Somerset House on Wednesday, September 16, for the opening ceremony and reception of Reviving Craft: Reflection of the Mind.

The exhibition brings together more than 70 artists and explores China’s enduring tradition of living craft heritage.

The appearance marked one of the couple’s first official outings since their wedding earlier this year, with Peter and Harriet cutting an elegant figure as they joined fellow guests at the central London venue.

Harriet Turns Heads in £895 Red Beulah London Dress

Harriet, an NHS nurse, commanded attention in a striking £895 red dress by Beulah London, a fashion label previously worn by the Princess of Wales.

The sophisticated midi design featured a high neckline, a neat row of pearl buttons and a matching belt that highlighted her waist.

She paired the dress with brown suede heels, delicate earrings and a black clutch.

Her blonde hair was styled in loose waves, while her makeup was kept understated with a fresh, natural and dewy finish.

Peter opted for a classic black tuxedo and bow tie, giving the evening a suitably formal feel as the newlyweds enjoyed a night out together.

Couple Join High-Profile Exhibition Guests

Peter and Harriet were pictured alongside prominent figures at the exhibition, including Chinese media executive Yang Lan and businessman Bruno Wu.

Their appearance came as they continue to make their way through the summer social calendar following their June wedding, with the couple having attended several major events in recent months.

Among those occasions were Royal Ascot and Wimbledon, where Harriet has increasingly been seen alongside members of the royal family.

Peter and Harriet Recently Supported Zara Tindall

Just days before their Somerset House appearance, the couple attended the Burghley Horse Trials in Stamford, Lincolnshire, to support Peter’s sister, Zara Tindall.

Harriet opted for a more relaxed daytime ensemble, wearing white wide-leg trousers with a cropped black denim jacket and colourful printed blouse.

Green suede ballet flats, a bright blue straw tote and a small white clutch completed the look.

Peter adopted a sporty style for the occasion, wearing navy trousers with a shirt and gilet.

Zara, an accomplished equestrian, was joined at the event by her brother, their father Captain Mark Phillips, 77, and his girlfriend Florence Standaert, 44.

Captain Mark, who was previously married to Princess Anne, has been romantically linked with Belgian equestrian Standaert since 2022.

She also attended Peter and Harriet’s intimate Cotswolds wedding in June.

The Couple’s Royal Wedding in the Cotswolds

Peter and Harriet married at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, close to Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park home.

The ceremony brought together senior members of the royal family and prominent figures from their social circle.

The King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were among the guests.

Beatrice attended with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, while Eugenie was accompanied by her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

For her wedding, Harriet wore a white Emilia Wickstead gown and the Pragnell family tiara.

Her long train was carried by her daughter Georgina, 14, alongside Peter’s daughters Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, from his previous marriage to Autumn Kelly.

The three bridesmaids wore matching white dresses by the same designer and completed their outfits with floral garlands.

Harriet’s Royal Ascot Debut

Following the wedding, Harriet made her official debut as a member of the wider royal family at Royal Ascot, joining Peter in the traditional carriage procession.

The NHS nurse looked elegant in a blue silk Biarritz dress by Suzannah London, which she paired with cream Jimmy Choo slingback heels.

She sat beside her new mother-in-law, Princess Anne, during the carriage procession.

Harriet’s new status was also reflected in the accessories she carried.

Alongside her wedding ring, she carried a sky-blue Anya Hindmarch clutch embroidered with the initials “HP”, marking her new married name.

The Somerset House appearance now adds another high-profile event to Harriet and Peter’s first summer together as husband and wife.
