Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber has named an experienced team for the Rugby World Cup semi-final against England on Saturday, October 21, in Paris, France.
The team includes captain Siya Kolisi, Eben Etzebeth, Manie Libbok, Steven Kitshoff, Frans Malherbe, Bongi Mbonambi, Damian de Allende, Jesse Kriel, Manie Libbok, Cobus Reinach, Cheslin Kolbe, Kurt-Lee Arendse, Damian Willemse, Franco Mostert, Pieter-Steph du Toit, and Duane Vermeulen.
Nienaber said that the Springboks have been building a quality Rugby World Cup squad for the last few years and that they are now in a good position for the knockout matches.
He also said that there are many other good players who could have been selected for the team, but that they can only select 23 and that everyone in the group is aligned and understands that the country comes first.
The replacements are Deon Fourie (hooker/flanker), Ox Nche and Vincent Koch (props), RG Snyman (lock), Kwagga Smith (loose forward), Faf de Klerk (scrumhalf), Handre Pollard (flyhalf), and Willie le Roux (fullback).
