Houston Welcomes St. Peter Catholic, a Catholic Trade School Focused on Practical Education and Faith

The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has inaugurated a groundbreaking Catholic trade school in the heart of Texas’ largest city.

Named St. Peter Catholic, the school welcomed its first cohort of 10 students last fall.

Following recent renovations and a move to its 10-acre campus, the school is now fully operational for the spring semester.

The faculty at St. Peter’s is dedicated to providing a unique educational experience that emphasizes both academic excellence and the development of strong character and faith formation.

They aim to prepare students to become highly skilled and motivated individuals, equipped to make a positive impact in the world.

A Focus on Practical Education and Faith Formation

St. Peter’s is designed as a co-educational “career and technical high school,” offering students a hands-on curriculum in fields such as information technology, education, architecture, construction, business, marketing, and finance.

What sets St. Peter’s apart is its integration of Catholic teachings into every aspect of the curriculum, ensuring that students not only receive a top-notch education but also grow in their understanding and practice of the Catholic faith.

Revitalizing a Community in Southeast Houston

The school is located on the grounds of a former kindergarten through eighth-grade parochial school in southeast Houston.

This area of the city is experiencing significant transformation, mirroring the growth of Houston’s population.

St. Peter’s aims not only to educate students but also to contribute to the revitalization of the community, providing opportunities for young people to thrive and succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Looking to the Future

As St. Peter Catholic continues to grow and expand its offerings, it is poised to become a beacon of excellence in Catholic education, providing students with the skills, knowledge, and faith foundation they need to lead successful and fulfilling lives.
