Private equity firm GTCR has completed the fundraising for its first-ever Capital Solutions Fund, securing approximately $1.25 billion in total commitments across the fund and affiliated investment vehicles.

The Chicago-based investment firm attracted support from a broad mix of institutional investors, reflecting strong confidence in its long-term investment strategy and track record.

The fund’s investor base includes public and corporate pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, and financial institutions.

Fund to Focus on Structured Equity and Debt Investments

The newly established vehicle is designed to pursue minority structured equity and debt investments, with a primary emphasis on middle-market companies.

GTCR intends to use the fund to provide capital for mergers and acquisitions, business expansion initiatives, and other strategic opportunities aimed at increasing enterprise value.

Investment targets will largely fall within the firm’s established industry sectors, with a preference for businesses that generate recurring revenue, produce strong free cash flow, and maintain durable competitive positions.

Early Deployment Already Underway

Although the fund has only recently closed, GTCR has already begun putting capital to work through several investments.

The early activity highlights the firm’s readiness to execute transactions and capitalize on opportunities across its targeted industries.

The Capital Solutions strategy is expected to complement GTCR’s broader investment platform by offering flexible financing solutions to businesses seeking growth capital.

Dedicated Team to Drive Investment Strategy

The Capital Solutions Fund will be managed through close collaboration between GTCR’s Capital Solutions team, the firm’s industry-focused investment professionals, and its Capital Markets division.

The Capital Markets team is led by Managing Director Jim Bonetti, while the Capital Solutions group includes Managing Director Jason Prager and Principal Alisha Chaudhary, who will help oversee investment sourcing, execution, and portfolio management.

Building on Decades of Private Equity Experience

Founded in 1980, GTCR has built a reputation for partnering with experienced management teams to acquire and expand businesses through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

The firm concentrates its investments across Business & Consumer Services, Financial Services & Technology, Healthcare, and Technology, Media & Telecommunications.

Over more than four decades, GTCR has invested in excess of $35 billion across more than 300 companies.

Today, the firm manages approximately $45 billion in equity capital and operates from offices in Chicago, New York, and West Palm Beach.
