The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the payment dates for the rest of 2023. The grant-support system supports over 19 million dependents in South Africa.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana is expected to make an announcement on the fate of SASSA grants in his mid-term budget policy statement on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
There have been reports that some SASSA grants could be reduced or eliminated altogether, while others have called for an increase in SASSA grants.
Regardless of the outcome of the minister’s address, here are the SASSA payment dates for the rest of 2023:
OCTOBER 2023
- SASSA SRD Grants: Between Wednesday, October 25 and Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
NOVEMBER 2023
- Older Persons Grants: Thursday, November 2, 2023.
- Disability Grants: Friday, November 3, 2023.
- Child Support Grants, Foster Child Grants, Care Dependency Grants, War Veterans Grants: Monday, November 6, 2023.
- SASSA SRD Grants: Between Friday, November 24 and Thursday, November 30, 2023.
DECEMBER 2023
- Older Persons Grants: Friday, December 1, 2023.
- Disability Grants: Monday, December 4, 2023.
- Child Support Grants, Foster Child Grants, Care Dependency Grants, War Veterans Grants: Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
- SASSA SRD Grants: Between Monday, December 18 and Friday, December 22, 2023.
