Zamfara State Government Confirms Rescue of Abducted Women

The government of Zamfara State, under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal, has confirmed the safe rescue of four women who were abducted seven months ago by suspected kidnappers.


The victims had been kidnapped along the Kaura Namoda – Birnin Magaji Road and recently appeared in a video clip pleading for the governor’s intervention in their rescue.

Reunion at Government House:

In a statement issued on Thursday, the spokesperson for Governor Lawal, Sulaiman Bala Idris, announced that the rescued women were received at the Council Chambers, Government House, Gusau.

The government had been deeply concerned since the release of the video clip, prompting a swift and successful response leading to the freedom of the abductees.

Governor’s Gratitude and Commitment:

Governor Lawal expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for the safe return of the kidnapped women.


He assured the victims and their families of full support and reintegration into society.

Handover Ceremony:

During the official handover ceremony, the Zamfara State Director of the Department of State Services, Nuhu Umar, presented the rescued victims to Governor Lawal.

The victims were identified as Jamila Yahaya Isa, Aisha Yahaya Isa, Ummulkhairi Musa, and UmmulKhairi Sani Umar.

The timely intervention of the government led to their freedom from the clutches of the kidnappers.
