Vacationing in London took a frightening turn for Taylor Fritz and his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, who recently shared that they were nearly the victims of a break-in.
The couple, who have been together since 2020, found themselves facing a terrifying situation while staying in an Airbnb.
The Attempted Break-In
Morgan took to her Instagram stories to recount the chilling experience.
She revealed that at 4 a.m., both she and Taylor were jolted awake by someone trying to enter their rental.
“We woke up to someone trying to enter the code and break into the front door of the Airbnb,” she recounted, alongside a photo of the entrance to their accommodation.
Adding to the drama, she noted that when she urged Taylor to lock the secondary lock, it was mysteriously missing.
“I tell Taylor to run and lock the secondary lock as they’re standing outside trying to get in and IT’S BEEN REMOVED???” she expressed in disbelief.
A Tennis Racket as a Weapon
In a lighthearted yet alarming moment, Morgan shared a picture of Taylor holding a tennis racket, humorously commenting, “Of all potential weapons in the house, this man grabs a racket.”
This unusual choice of defense highlighted the absurdity of the situation they found themselves in.
Previous Airbnb Nightmares
Morgan’s post didn’t just recount this recent scare; she also opened up about her history with Airbnb accommodations.
She recalled a distressing incident in 2017 when she woke up to find a man standing over her while she slept.
Additionally, she shared that just this summer, she walked in on someone robbing her home.
Reflecting on these experiences, she emphasized, “Airbnb is SO unsafe. They are intentionally targeted in many cities.”
Her advice? “Houses are nice for longer stays, but please just stay in a hotel, especially if you are traveling alone or only with girls.”
Morgan admitted that she had promised herself to avoid Airbnb after her past encounters but found herself caught in another precarious situation.
Celebrating Love Amidst Chaos
Despite the unsettling experience, Morgan and Taylor recently celebrated four years together, marking their anniversary in June.
The couple initially connected on the exclusive dating app Raya and has since become a prominent presence at each other’s events.
