South Africa Forest Adventures launches the world’s longest zipline K3, offering a thrilling 3.2km ride near Caledon in the Western Cape

After extensive planning and anticipation, SA Forest Adventures has finally unveiled the K3 zipline, now officially the longest in the world!

Located just outside Caledon in the picturesque Western Cape, this thrilling attraction surpasses the former record-holder, Jais Flight in the UAE, by nearly 400 meters.

Prioritizing Safety at K3

Safety is paramount for the team at SA Forest Adventures.

Over the years, they have meticulously planned and tested the K3 zipline, culminating in successful test flights just before the grand opening.

An independent engineer has verified the zipline’s safety, giving it the green light to welcome adventure seekers, as reported by The Newspaper.

It’s crucial for participants to note that there are specific safety guidelines in place.

Riders must weigh between 60kg and 120kg.

Unfortunately, anyone who has consumed alcohol, pregnant women, or individuals with heart conditions or physical disabilities will not be permitted to ride.

What to Expect on Your Adventure

For those eager for an adrenaline rush, the K3 zipline promises an unforgettable experience, stretching an impressive 3.2 kilometers!

The adventure kicks off with a scenic 7km 4×4 drive up the mountain.

After that, a short but steep hike leads you to the zipline launch platform.

Before you soar down the cable, a guide will provide essential safety instructions.

Guests will be sent off one at a time, so the size of your group will influence how long you wait at the top.

During its opening month, only 24 spots are available each day.

The entire experience, from the mountain ride to the zipline, lasts about an hour, and the cost is R1800 per person.

Speeding Down from the Mountain Peak

If you’re ready for the thrill, be prepared to reach speeds of up to 120 km per hour, depending on your weight.

As you take flight, you’ll be amazed to discover that the ground drops about 500 meters beneath you within the first 200 meters of your descent!

The Ideal Location for Adventure

The K3 zipline is situated just a few kilometers from Caledon, a charming town in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, making it a little over an hour’s drive from Cape Town.

Clinton Lerm, the creative mind behind SA Forest Adventures, spent years searching for the perfect site and finally found a location that offers both logistical advantages and breathtaking views.

This new zipline is expected to be a game-changer for adventure tourism in the Cape Overberg region.
