Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer Visits President Joe Biden at His Rehoboth Beach Home to Urge Him to Withdraw from 2024 Presidential Race

Last weekend, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer made a trip to President Joe Biden’s beach house in Rehoboth.

According to various sources, Schumer urged Biden to reconsider his presidential bid.

The Ruthless Podcast, during a session at the Republican National Convention, reported that Schumer was driven to Delaware specifically to deliver this message.

They described it as a “blunt one-on-one conversation,” with Schumer making a strong case for Biden to drop out of the race.

Despite these claims, Schumer’s office is disputing the details.

A spokesperson told DailyMail.com that unless the source was Schumer or Biden himself, the reports were speculative.

They maintained that Schumer had simply conveyed his caucus’s views to Biden during their meeting on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Biden had been in Rehoboth for a short time after campaigning in Detroit.

He returned to the White House Saturday night, just after former President Donald Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Internal Democratic Concerns

The attempt on Trump’s life momentarily shifted the focus away from calls for Biden to step down.

However, internal discussions among Democrats continued. The New York Times reported that California Rep. Adam Schiff, who is expected to win a U.S. Senate seat in November, expressed doubts about Biden’s electability at a Hamptons fundraiser.

He suggested that Biden’s unpopularity could harm Democratic chances in the House and Senate.

Schiff publicly backed the idea of Biden stepping aside, emphasizing that Biden could secure his legacy by helping to defeat Trump.

Biden’s Stance

Despite the growing pressure, Biden remains firm in his commitment to run.

Following a problematic debate performance last month, he has been resolute in his campaign.

In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Biden stated that only “the Lord almighty” could make him reconsider.

He also mentioned that a significant health issue might sway his decision to withdraw.

On Wednesday, amid a campaign trip to Las Vegas, Biden tested positive for COVID-19.

According to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, he is only experiencing mild symptoms and will isolate in Delaware.

Campaign Strategy Amid Health Concerns

Biden’s campaign is leveraging the situation to rally support.

They sent out a fundraising email with the subject line “I’m sick…” and explained in the email that they were “sick of Elon Musk trying to buy this election for himself and his billionaire buddies.”

Musk recently endorsed Trump and pledged significant funds to a MAGA-aligned PAC.

The email concluded with a more serious note from Biden about his COVID-19 diagnosis, reassuring supporters of his commitment to holding Trump and his supporters accountable.
