MERCEDES BENZ OFFERS MR SMEG A GIG
Taking to Twitter, Mr Smeg revealed that he would star in a new advert by Mercedes Benz Sandton.
He posted: “I can’t believe that I am gonna be the main Star kwi advert ka Mercedes Benz Sandton”.
Mercedes Benz was an official sponsor of the national date and drove both Pearl Thusi and the tweep to their destinations in luxury vehicles.
Tweeps congratulated Twitter celebrity on his money move and many teased the star about changing his handle to “Mr Mercedes”
Others encouraged the social media star to drop luxury appliance range “Smeg” after the brand snubbed his marketing strategy.
Mr Smeg is also widely known for posting pics on his Instagram account with his red Smeg kettle in weird and wonderful scenarios.
BMW TAKES AN ‘L’
Meanwhile, BMW have been dragged by tweeps after it ignored a request by the star to sponsor transport to his national date last week.
Ahead of his date with Pearl Thusi, Mr Smeg tagged the luxury dealership, tweeting: “Hey @BMW_SA , May you please hook me up with the latest BMW X3 facelift. I want to use it for my lunch date with Pearl Thusi on Saturday.”
BMW snubbed the Twitter star’s request, despite him driving his own personal BMW.
Now tweeps claim BMW has lost out on benefiting from one of the biggest influencer in Mzansi.
“@BMW_SA how does it feel? After you rejected him?” asked one tweep.
