Amid a high-profile legal feud with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, Blake Lively received a public show of affection from husband Ryan Reynolds over the weekend.
The couple, married since 2012 and parents to four children, seemed to momentarily step away from the spotlight to enjoy a lighthearted moment together.
Sweet Selfie in New York
On Saturday, Reynolds, 48, shared a cozy outdoor selfie on Instagram featuring himself and Lively, 38, as they checked out Halloween decorations near their New York home.
Lively, who snapped the photo, captured Reynolds posing casually with his hands in his pockets beside a balloon spider tied to a street lamp. The couple smiled warmly, radiating effortless charm.
Lively looked stunning with her sandy blonde hair down, wearing a chic tweed jacket, while Reynolds exuded his usual laid-back cool.
Shortly after he posted the selfie, Lively shared it to her Instagram Story, tagging her husband and adding an animated heart emoji—a sweet nod to their enduring love.
Lively Shares Everyday Life Amid Litigation
This affectionate display comes just days after Lively gave her 42.5 million Instagram followers a peek into her everyday life, modeling her favorite pajamas.
The Gossip Girl alum shared in her Instagram Stories that she loved her London-based brand DAMSON MADDER’s ‘Antonella Pj Set – Polka Dot,’ joking that she often swaps the bottoms with jeans or slacks and wears the top as a regular shirt.
She concluded her post with a playful “no one will ever know” and a shush emoji.
In the snapshot, Lively stood in a walk-in closet surrounded by dozens of shoes, sporting white pajamas paired with necklaces and styling her blonde hair to one side.
Fans got a glimpse of her relaxed, stylish side despite ongoing legal pressures.
Legal Battle With Justin Baldoni
The couple’s Instagram moments come against the backdrop of Lively’s ongoing litigation with Justin Baldoni.
In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment, retaliatory conduct, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The suit alleged multiple instances of harassment, including body shaming, and claimed Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her to damage her reputation.
Lively also named Baldoni’s collaborators in the suit, including Wayfarer Studios, the studio’s CEO and financial backer, and PR personnel Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel.
Baldoni had initially sought $250 million in damages from a related report, later rolling it into a $400 million lawsuit filed in January 2025 that also named Reynolds and Lively’s publicist Leslie Sloane.
However, the case was dismissed in June, and all parties have denied the allegations.
A Moment of Normalcy for the Couple
Despite the legal drama, Reynolds and Lively took a rare opportunity to publicly enjoy each other’s company.
Their sweet Instagram posts remind fans that even amid high-stakes litigation, the couple remains supportive of each other, sharing glimpses of love and humor in their day-to-day lives.
