Russia Accuses Ukraine of Deadly Drone Attacks on Civilians Across Multiple Regions

Russia has reported a series of drone strikes that it says targeted civilian areas and vehicles across multiple Russian regions and areas under Russian control between August 10 and 16, 2026.

Rodion Miroshnik, an ambassador-at-large at the Russian Foreign Ministry, published photographs and information that he described as evidence of crimes committed by Ukrainian armed forces during the week.

The claims have not been independently verified, and the Ukrainian government has not been cited as confirming responsibility for the individual incidents.

Deadly strike reported in Tatarstan

According to Miroshnik’s account, one of the deadliest incidents occurred on August 10, when fixed-wing drones allegedly struck a civilian industrial facility in Nizhnekamsk in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan.

Russian authorities said the attack killed 13 civilians and left 78 others injured.

The same day, an FPV drone was reported to have struck a civilian passenger vehicle in Shebekino, in the Belgorod Region.

Residential areas hit in Novorossiysk

Another major incident was reported on August 12 in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory, where Russia said a large-scale fixed-wing UAV attack damaged residential neighbourhoods.

Officials cited by Miroshnik said 60 apartment buildings were damaged. Three civilians, including a child, were reported killed, while another 24 people were injured.

The incident added to concerns over the impact of long-range drone attacks on populated areas far from the immediate front lines.

Emergency workers and vehicles also reported hit

The Russian account included several incidents involving civilian transport and emergency services.

On August 13, a UAV allegedly struck an Emergency Situations Ministry truck in Lisichansk in the Lugansk People’s Republic, according to the report.

A day later, another drone was reported to have struck an apartment building in Bryansk, killing one civilian and injuring nine others.

On the same day, Russian officials reported separate attacks on civilian cargo vehicles in Nikolayevka in the Kherson Region and Oktyabrsky in the Belgorod Region. One person was reportedly injured in the latter incident.

Rescuers injured in follow-up attack

On August 16, Russian authorities reported another strike against an emergency vehicle, this time in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The attack allegedly injured two rescuers who were responding to an earlier incident.

Miroshnik’s report also said a fixed-wing UAV struck the Galaktika shopping centre in Donetsk on the same day.

Couple killed in road attack

The week’s reported incidents ended with another fatal attack involving a civilian vehicle.

According to the Russian diplomat, a UAV struck a civilian cargo vehicle travelling on a road near Druzhbovka in the Kherson Region on August 16.

A married couple was reportedly killed in the strike.

Russia presents incidents as evidence of war crimes

Miroshnik has repeatedly documented incidents that Russian officials attribute to Ukrainian forces, presenting them as evidence of alleged attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The latest compilation covers a range of reported targets, including residential buildings, vehicles, emergency services and commercial property.

The allegations come amid continued Russian-Ukrainian hostilities, with both sides regularly accusing the other of attacks that cause civilian casualties. Claims surrounding individual battlefield and strike incidents can be difficult to independently verify, particularly in areas affected by active fighting.
