Russell Crowe Reveals His Health Struggles and 55 Pound Weight Loss While Sharing Secrets With Joe Rogan in Los Angeles

Russell Crowe has shared an honest look at his recent health challenges, alongside the impressive journey that led to a 55-pound weight loss.

The 61-year-old actor sat down on Joe Rogan’s podcast this week to discuss how old injuries and chronic pain had made daily life—and working out—a real struggle.

Old Injuries Took a Toll

Crowe revealed that years of “old injuries” left his shoulders “deeply arthritic,” making exercise painful and challenging.

“I couldn’t work out without suffering for two to three hours afterwards,” he admitted, describing the limitations his body had imposed.

Finding Relief With Ways2Well

The actor credited the Texas-based wellness company Ways2Well for helping him regain control over his health.

Founded by Brigham Buhler, the company combines “innovative diagnostic testing, physician-guided treatment plans, and a focus on whole-body wellness” to tackle issues that traditional healthcare often overlooks.

Crowe has been undergoing shoulder and knee injections, as well as IV treatments, which he says have “calmed down my body’s inflammation.”

Dramatic Weight Loss

Since finishing Nuremberg, Crowe has dropped from 277 pounds to 222 pounds—a total of 55 pounds.

He specifically credited Ways2Well for guiding him through this transformation.

“I connected with them about five times since we first met,” Crowe said.

“Ultrasounds show my arthritis has lessened by about 70 percent.

My range of motion is much better, and I can work out without pain.”

Preparing for Highlander

Crowe also explained the rigorous training required for his upcoming Highlander reboot.

He admitted he had to work out three times a day for the role, but recognized that such a schedule wasn’t sustainable long-term.

“That’s a bad recipe. I can do it for a while, but eventually, I’d stop completely. I want to make these changes long-term,” he explained.

Cutting Back on Alcohol

The actor also touched on changes in his lifestyle, including his alcohol consumption.

“I’m a big proponent for having a drink. It’s my cultural heritage and my goddamn right,” he joked.

But Crowe has become more mindful, limiting himself to one night of drinking a week.

“I try not to have casual drinks now, having a drink for the sake of it,” he admitted, noting how age has taught him to respect his body’s limits.

What Comes Next

Crowe’s journey is far from over. With a new movie and a reboot on the horizon, he’s focused on maintaining his health and staying fit without sacrificing long-term wellness.

Fans can expect to see him in peak form, armed with a healthier body and a wiser approach to self-care.
