Princess Leonor’s Confident Debut at Military Easter Ceremony
Princess Leonor of Spain, the 18-year-old heiress presumptive, exuded confidence as she participated in the country’s New Year Military Easter ceremony.
Accompanied by her proud parents, Queen Letizia and King Felipe, the event took place at the Royal Palace in Madrid. This annual ceremony marks the commencement of the new military year, a tradition dating back to the 18th century during the reign of Spanish King Charles III.
The origin traces back to the recovery of the Manorcan town of Mahon from English occupation in 1782, when a parade was ordered by the king to celebrate the occasion. The ceremony has since been observed every 6th of January.
Leonor’s Military Education and Debut Appearance
Making her inaugural appearance at the Military Easter ceremony, Princess Leonor showcased her confidence in full military dress.
Having enrolled at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza in September, the future Spanish queen is undergoing a three-year military training program.
Following her first year at the academy, Leonor is expected to transition to a naval academy in Spain, concluding her training at the General Air Academy.
Her poised presence at the event reflected military precision, with her dark grey uniform and blue sash impeccably maintained, complemented by a slicked-back braided bun.
Stylish Presence of Queen Letizia and King Felipe
Queen Letizia, always known for her chic style, accompanied her daughter in a high-neck silk blouse and skirt, paired with pointed black heels.
Her sleek ponytail hairstyle and minimal makeup marked a simple yet elegant beginning to the new year at the Royal Palace.
As the family headed outside for a section of the ceremony, Queen Letizia donned a black jacket with a fur-like collar.
King Felipe, mirroring the regal attire, wore his military uniform adorned with a red sash and numerous glittering medals, embodying the dignified spirit of the annual Military Easter ceremony.
