Tensions escalated further after the Mail on Sunday published emails showing Andrew’s attempts to smear his teenage sex accuser, Virginia Giuffre.
One email reveals Andrew asked a taxpayer-funded Metropolitan Police bodyguard to investigate Giuffre, even providing her date of birth and social security number.
Shockingly, Andrew also involved Ed Perkins, Queen Elizabeth’s deputy press secretary, informing him that a personal protection officer had been tasked with digging up information on Giuffre.
The email, sent just hours before the infamous photograph of Andrew with 17-year-old Giuffre was published, suggests the prince was actively trying to discredit his accuser.
