Paris Olympics to Feature Snoop Dogg as Torchbearer in Saint-Denis, Adding a Star-Studded Touch to the Friday Opening Ceremony

In a thrilling announcement, a legendary US rapper will play a special role at the upcoming Paris Olympics.

On Friday, the city will be buzzing with excitement as the opening ceremony gets underway.

Over 10,000 athletes will gather on boats floating down the Seine River, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration.

But before the festivities begin, rapper Snoop Dogg will add a unique touch to the event.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., will carry the Olympic torch through the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis.

This news was confirmed by the suburb’s mayor on social media.

Alongside Snoop Dogg, French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar will also have their moment with the torch.

At 52, Snoop Dogg is not only participating in the torch relay but will also be a part of NBC’s Olympic coverage.

In a December statement to the network, he shared his enthusiasm for the Games.

“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris,” Snoop Dogg said.

“It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness.”

Snoop Dogg’s Olympic Spirit

Hailing from Los Angeles, where the 2028 Olympics will be hosted, Snoop Dogg’s support for the Games runs deep.

Last month, he showed his support for Team USA by attending the track and field trials.

He even had the chance to run on the track in Eugene, Oregon, and meet with Sha’Carri Richardson before she clinched her spot in the Olympics.

After Snoop Dogg completes his torch-bearing duties, NBA star LeBron James will take on the role of flagbearer for Team USA, adding another star-studded moment to the opening ceremony.
