Following Akpabio’s victory over Senator Abdulaziz Yari in the election, where he secured 63 votes compared to Yari’s 46, Ezekwesili took to her verified Twitter handle to raise concerns.

She questioned whether Akpabio had even participated as a candidate in the senatorial primaries, claiming that his position as a senator was due to the Nigerian judiciary rather than the democratic choice of citizens.

Ezekwesili firmly asserted that these acts of political corruption would not endure.

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), paid a visit to Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday.

The visit took place during a reception ceremony held in honor of Akpabio at his residence in Abuja.

Akpabio, the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East, emerged as the winner of the Senate Presidency election, defeating Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara Central with a vote count of 63 to 46.
