Northamptonshire have secured the signing of wicketkeeper-batter Finlay Bean from Yorkshire on a three-year contract, bringing the 24-year-old to the club ahead of the new season.
Bean developed through Yorkshire’s academy system and went on to make 48 first-class appearances for the county, scoring 2,649 runs during his time with the White Rose.
Strong Record in County Cricket
The wicketkeeper-batter also recorded 517 runs in 30 List A matches for Yorkshire.
Although he represented the county in the One-Day Cup towards the end of last season, Bean completed his red-ball campaign with Yorkshire’s second XI. His most recent appearance in the County Championship came in May.
Lehmann Welcomes Long-Term Signing
Northamptonshire head coach Darren Lehmann revealed that the club had been monitoring Bean for some time before securing his services.
“I’m really pleased to secure him on a long-term deal where he’ll hopefully develop and become a brilliant asset to the team,” Lehmann said on the club’s official website.
The signing gives Northamptonshire a new wicketkeeper-batter on a three-year agreement as Bean begins the next stage of his professional career.
