Ana Mario Diconu shared the terrifying ordeal her family faced on Christmas Day when a speeding car crashed into their home, causing a section of it to collapse.

Her two young children narrowly escaped harm as the vehicle plowed into their residence, creating a 10ft hole and damaging their property.

The Horrific Crash: Escaping a Potential Tragedy

Ana’s nine-year-old daughter was in a ground floor room, moments after unwrapping a present, when the car crashed through.

Simultaneously, her two-year-old son was still in bed during the harrowing incident that occurred around 9:45 am. Ana and her partner, Florian, were in an upper bedroom as the car demolished the lower level.

Narrow Escape and Immediate Actions

Expressing shock and relief, Ana described the impact as resembling an earthquake, realizing immediately it was a car due to the distinct sound of the engine.

Florian, acting swiftly upon detecting gas, evacuated their children from the endangered house to ensure their safety.

Arrest Made and Property Damage

Law enforcement apprehended an 18-year-old on suspicion of reckless driving, lacking insurance and a valid license.

Meanwhile, the family, originally from Romania, is coping with the aftermath of the £400,000 property’s structural damage, unable to return until it’s deemed safe.

Reflecting on the incident, Ana recounted the prior Christmas Eve celebrations and expressed gratitude that visiting family members weren’t present during the crash, averting a potential tragedy.
