Pressure on Lagos Police to Release Sam Larry Amid Mohbad’s Case
Recent developments indicate mounting pressure on the Lagos State Police to release music promoter Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, also known as Sam Larry.
This pressure comes in the wake of Sam Larry’s arrest and subsequent interrogation in connection with the controversial death of 27-year-old singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Sources within the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yaba, Lagos, revealed that numerous calls have been made to the Officer in Charge (O/C) SCIID, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Waheed Ayilara, requesting the release of the suspect since his arrest last week.
According to these sources, the individual making the calls has promised to produce Sam Larry whenever required. The pressure has been significant, with even a prominent traditional ruler on the Island reportedly intervening and urging Sam Larry’s release following his interrogation.
In response, the police have clarified that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death are still ongoing, and they are actively exploring additional leads in the case.
It has been alleged that Sam Larry admitted to the police that his dispute with Mohbad was rooted in the singer’s failure to repay a debt amounting to N2 million.
The situation continues to develop, and authorities are working to gather all necessary information regarding the case.
