Golden Arrows have finalized the signing of midfielder Menzi Masuku following his departure from Royal AM, according to reports from FARPost.
Masuku, 31, bid farewell to Thwihli Thwahla after his contract expired in June.
His tenure with the club began when they acquired Bloemfontein Celtic’s status back in 2021.
Throughout his time there, Masuku proved indispensable, especially during periods when FIFA transfer bans prevented new player acquisitions.
Sources at FARPost confirm Masuku’s transfer to Arrows, marking a homecoming for the midfielder in Durban as they gear up for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
He is expected to bolster Abafana Bes’thende’s midfield alongside players like Velemseni Ndwandwe, Lungelo Dube, and others.
In addition to Masuku, Golden Arrows have secured three other notable signings:
Keenan Phillips, a free transfer from Moroka Swallows, joined Arrows after a six-month hiatus due to disputes over unpaid wages.
The 24-year-old right-back signed a two-year deal, eager to contribute to the club’s defensive strength.
Bongani Cele – Striker Acquisition
Bongani Cele, who netted two goals for JDR Stars last season, brings striking prowess to Arrows.
He faces competition from a talented pool including Lungelo Nguse and Knox Mutizwa, aiming to make his mark after spells with Sinenkani FC and JDR Stars.
Edward Maova – Goalkeeper Talent
Edward Maova emerged as a top choice for Arrows’ goalkeeping position, recognized for his stellar performances last season.
His signing underscores the club’s commitment to strengthening their squad across all positions.
These acquisitions highlight Golden Arrows’ proactive approach as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season, aiming to build on their recent successes.
