Instead of sitting down with the controversial YouTuber and boxer, Shea was greeted by a lookalike.
The planned interview, part of a documentary titled Logan Paul: Bad Influence, was set to investigate allegations surrounding Paul’s promotion of cryptocurrency investments.
These accusations claim that Paul misled his followers by promoting coins without disclosing his own financial interests, driving up their prices.
The Lookalike Incident
Shea had traveled to Puerto Rico to meet with Logan Paul at a gym owned by the Paul brothers.
The gym had been set up with multiple cameras before Shea’s arrival, a clear sign that something was off.
When Shea entered, he quickly realized that the man in front of him wasn’t Logan Paul but someone posing as him.
The lookalike attempted to engage with Shea, even calling himself a “serious person” in response to the reporter’s probing questions.
When it became clear that no real interview would happen, Shea decided to leave.
However, before he could exit, things took an even stranger turn.
A group burst into the room, holding signs featuring Shea’s face, while the fake Logan Paul approached with a microphone.
The group started chanting anti-BBC messages, adding to the bizarre atmosphere.
Shea, in a voiceover later, remarked that rather than addressing the allegations, Logan Paul seemed to be trolling the BBC team.
The Crypto Controversy
This incident is just one part of a larger ongoing controversy involving Logan Paul and his role in promoting cryptocurrency projects.
The BBC documentary digs into the claims that Paul promoted crypto coins to his audience without revealing his personal financial ties, which allegedly inflated the value of those investments.
In 2021, Paul posted about a particular crypto coin, and an anonymous crypto wallet—allegedly linked to Paul’s public wallet—made a profit of $121,000 after trading in the coin.
These allegations have followed Paul for years, and his team responded with legal threats shortly after the interview debacle.

Paul is also entangled in a multi-million-dollar lawsuit related to his failed cryptocurrency project, CryptoZoo.
The project, which launched in 2021, promised users a chance to buy egg NFTs that could hatch into animal NFTs and be bred for profit.
However, the game failed to meet expectations, and the project became the target of fraud accusations.
A YouTube channel, Coffeezilla, even produced a three-part docuseries claiming Paul and his team had scammed users.
In response, Paul denied the fraud allegations, shifting the blame onto the game’s developers.
Despite his insistence that he didn’t profit from the project—claiming he actually lost half a million dollars—he has offered a $2.3 million buyback program to settle the matter.
