Matheus Cunha Expresses Desire to Move to Bigger Club After Helping Wolves Secure Premier League Survival in 2025

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is making his intentions clear as he eyes a move to a bigger club this summer.

After staying at Molineux during the January transfer window despite interest from top clubs, the Brazilian forward is now looking for a new challenge.

With 13 goals in 26 Premier League appearances this season, Cunha has caught the attention of several major clubs, and it seems his time at Wolves is coming to an end.

Cunha’s Decision to Stay and Fight for Survival

Back in January, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest all expressed interest in signing Cunha.

However, the 24-year-old chose to stay with Wolves and help them fight off relegation.

At the time, the club was in a perilous position, sitting in the relegation zone.

Cunha was determined not to abandon them in their moment of need, and his decision has paid off, with Wolves now sitting comfortably nine points clear of the drop zone in 17th place.

Looking Ahead to New Opportunities

Now that the threat of relegation has been averted, Cunha is focused on what’s next for his career.

Speaking to The Guardian, he shared his desire to take the next step in his professional journey.

“I had a lot of offers to leave in January, but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,” Cunha explained.

“Some things you can’t control, but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.”

But now that Wolves are on track to secure their Premier League status, Cunha is ready for a fresh challenge. “Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up].

But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”

Potential Suitors and a Key Development at Arsenal

Cunha’s desire for a bigger club could be given further momentum by recent developments at Arsenal.

The club confirmed the appointment of Andrea Berta as their new sporting director on Sunday, a move that could have significant implications for Cunha’s future.

Berta was the man responsible for bringing Cunha to Atletico Madrid in 2021, and now with him taking on a key role at Arsenal, the Brazilian forward may be high on their radar.

Berta has a proven track record of making shrewd signings and selling players for profit, and his connection to Cunha could lead to a potential transfer to the North London club.

With Wolves continuing their fight for survival and Cunha preparing for his next big move, it looks like the young forward’s journey is about to take an exciting turn.
