Manqoba Mngqithi’s Confidence After Sundowns Departure

After parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns, former head coach Manqoba Mngqithi is standing strong and confident.

Despite being let go by the reigning Betway Premiership champions, he remains resolute in his belief in his abilities and future prospects.

I’m Not Bothered by Critics

Mngqithi shared his thoughts on the criticism he’s received, noting how little it affects him.

On Arrows’ podcast Up Back Through Podcast, he remarked, “I don’t think people who speak behind cameras hurt me that much.

” He elaborated, saying some critics don’t even have an identity, making it unfair for him to let their opinions get to him.

He has learned not to take things personally, no matter what people say.

Embracing the Challenges of Success

Reflecting on his career choices, Mngqithi pointed out that success often brings its own set of challenges.

“A car that is not moving is not barked at by the dogs,” he said, referencing a saying that suggests people only become targets when they’re doing something right.

He acknowledged that being in the spotlight comes with both praise and criticism, but he remains unfazed by it all.

Thick-Skinned and Unbothered

Mngqithi’s resilience comes in part from those who know him best, like club owner Sis Mato Madlala.

“She knows I’m so thick-skinned…I don’t give a damn about what people are saying,” he confessed.

This strong sense of self-confidence allows him to ignore outside noise and focus on his own potential.

He emphasized that he doesn’t worry about fitting in or societal pressures.

His confidence in himself and his abilities as a coach is unwavering.

Looking Ahead to New Opportunities

Looking toward the future, Mngqithi is certain he will land another coaching job.

“It’s inevitable,” he said.

“I’ll get another job, and I will do well in that job, it’s life.

” With a proven track record of success, he is confident that his next opportunity will be a success, just like the ones before it.

A Legacy of Winning

Reflecting on his journey, Mngqithi expressed his pride in his accomplishments, especially his trophy haul.

“Fortunately, with God’s grace, I think I have won too much,” he humbly shared.

For him, coaching has always been about winning trophies, believing that a true conqueror must prove their worth by conquering challenges.
