Manchester United Welcomes Andreas Georgson from Lillestrom to Boost Set-Play Expertise and Individual Player Development

Manchester United have just added a fresh name to their coaching lineup.

Andreas Georgson, who was previously with Norwegian side Lillestrom, is the latest addition.

The 42-year-old will be focusing on set-plays and individual player development.

This summer has been quite eventful for Manchester United’s coaching staff.

They’ve already welcomed Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake, who join Erik ten Hag’s team as assistants.

Additionally, Jelle ten Rouwelaar has been brought in as the new goalkeeper coach. Darren Fletcher has also transitioned from his role as technical director to become a first-team coach, working closely with Steve McClaren.

A Look at Georgson’s Background

Andreas Georgson is no stranger to the coaching world. Like Hake, who previously managed Go Ahead Eagles, and Van Nistelrooy, with his experience at PSV Eindhoven, Georgson has a solid coaching pedigree.

He was the head coach at Lillestrom and has also had stints as the caretaker boss at Malmo in Sweden. His coaching career in England includes roles at Brentford, Arsenal, and Southampton.

Ten Hag’s Vision for Georgson

Manager Erik ten Hag shared his excitement about the new hire during a press conference in Los Angeles.

“When we assessed our staff and looked at what we needed, we decided to bring Andreas in,” Ten Hag explained.

“He will focus on individual development, fostering a winning culture, and improving our set-piece strategies.

We’re thrilled to have him on board and look forward to his contributions.”
