Leeds United and Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, with both teams scoring once in a fiercely contested Premier League encounter.
Manchester United took the lead in the 35th minute when Bryan Mbeumo finished from close range after receiving a cross from Youri Tielemans.
Leeds responded shortly after the interval, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin finding the net in the 51st minute. The striker capitalised on a knockdown from Tarik Muharemovic to score the equaliser.
Both teams continued searching for a winning goal, but neither managed to find a decisive breakthrough before the final whistle.
The result left Manchester United with seven points from seven league matches, while Leeds moved to 10 points and seventh place in the standings.
Calvert-Lewin Leads Leeds Ratings After Equaliser
Dominic Calvert-Lewin received Leeds’ highest rating, scoring eight out of 10 for his performance. The forward made his opportunity count with a clinical finish and caused problems for United’s defenders throughout the match.
Captain Ethan Ampadu and right-sided defender Jayden Bogle were both awarded seven out of 10. Ampadu set an aggressive tone with early tackles and remained involved in the physical contest, while Bogle contributed both defensively and going forward.
Tarik Muharemovic, Nico Elvedi and James Trafford each received six out of 10. Muharemovic played an important role in the equaliser, while Elvedi tested United goalkeeper Senne Lammens with a first-half header. Trafford also made a timely intervention by coming out of his goal to clear the ball before Amad Diallo could capitalise.
Anton Stach was given six out of 10 despite missing two opportunities to score, while Ao Tanaka and Gabriel Gudmundsson received five each. Noah Okafor also earned five after struggling to make a significant impact before being substituted.
James Justin received four out of 10 after losing track of Mbeumo for Manchester United’s opening goal.
Daniel Farke Disappointed by Missed Opportunity
Leeds manager Daniel Farke received a rating of six out of 10 following the draw.
The assessment described the result as a missed opportunity for Leeds, given their recent form and Manchester United’s difficulties during the season.
Leeds had chances to secure all three points but were unable to convert their second-half opportunities into another goal.
Mbeumo Impresses as United Struggle to Find Consistency
Bryan Mbeumo was Manchester United’s highest-rated player, receiving seven out of 10 after scoring the opening goal and providing a consistent attacking threat.
The forward had previously missed an opportunity when left unmarked, but made no mistake when Tielemans supplied the ball for his 35th-minute finish. He was subsequently outmuscled by Calvert-Lewin in the build-up to Leeds’ equaliser.
Harry Maguire also received seven out of 10 for a strong physical performance against Calvert-Lewin. However, the defender was not marking the Leeds striker when he scored the equaliser.
Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Andrey Santos, Carlos Baleba and Youri Tielemans each received six out of 10.
Yoro continued to look comfortable at right-back, while Dalot performed well despite playing out of position on the left. Martinez delivered a solid first-half display before being substituted at the interval.
Santos faced a demanding test in midfield, and head coach Michael Carrick’s decision to keep him on the pitch after replacing Baleba was highlighted in the assessment.
Baleba provided composure in midfield, while Tielemans created the openings that led to Mbeumo’s chances in the first half.
Fernandes and Diallo Receive Five Out of Ten
Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo both received ratings of five out of 10.
Fernandes moved between the left flank and the striker position as United changed their attacking shape. However, he was judged to be below his best and had to be cautious after receiving an early yellow card for a challenge on Muharemovic.
Diallo returned to the right wing following an injury lay-off but was assessed as needing further improvement. He also required treatment after a challenge by Tanaka, although he was able to continue.
Goalkeeper Senne Lammens was awarded five out of 10. He was not blamed for Calvert-Lewin’s goal, but the assessment noted that he had yet to show the composure associated with his performances the previous season.
Carrick Receives Six as United Continue Difficult Run
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick was given six out of 10 after his team secured a point away from home.
The result came during a difficult period for United, with the side having recorded only two wins in 10 games across the season.
Carrick’s team took the lead through Mbeumo but could not preserve the advantage after Calvert-Lewin’s second-half equaliser.
United were unable to find a winner despite continuing to push forward, leaving them with seven points from seven Premier League matches.
Match Goals and Disciplinary Record
