Kwara State Polytechnic Denies Connection to Murder Suspects

Institution’s Official Statement

The administration of Kwara State Polytechnic has taken a firm stance in response to recent developments involving two suspects, Adama Joseph and Oreoluwa Davies, who were paraded by the Nigeria Police in connection with the murder of a club owner, Adeniyi Ojo, in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Suspects’ Statements

During the interrogation, Adama Joseph revealed that the victim had been making sexual advances toward her for some time.

She explained that she had declined his advances, especially since she had previously worked for him.

She further alleged that when she left his employment, he failed to meet her financial demands when requested.

Oreoluwa Davies corroborated Adama’s account of the events and clarified that she had completed her ND program at Kwara Polytechnic before the incident occurred.

Institution’s Rebuttal

In a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba, titled “Re: How we killed club owner in hotel – Female Student,” Kwara State Polytechnic unequivocally disassociated itself from the suspects.

The institution’s registrar emphasized that Adama Joseph and Oreoluwa Davies are not students of the polytechnic.

Denial of Affiliation

The institution refuted the claims made by the suspects, labeling them as false, baseless, and a product of their imagination.

The statement clarified that the suspects’ assertion that they were educated at Kwara Polytechnic is entirely untrue.

It further condemned the suspects’ actions as an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the institution.

Appeal for Verification

The registrar urged all stakeholders of the polytechnic and members of the press to exercise caution and verify information associated with the institution before disseminating it.

The administration remains committed to upholding the integrity of the polytechnic and its students, emphasizing that the institution’s students are known for their good conduct and responsible representation.
