Joe Fagnano’s first NFL start attracted plenty of attention on Thursday night, but it was his wife, Lydia, who became one of the most talked-about figures during the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 9 encounter with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The undrafted rookie was handed the starting quarterback role at M&T Bank Stadium after injuries ruled out Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley.

However, while Fagnano was making his first start in the league, Amazon Prime Video’s broadcast repeatedly turned its cameras towards his wife in the stands.

Lydia appeared several times throughout the game as she watched her husband take on the Jaguars, with her reactions becoming a recurring feature of the television coverage.

Cameras Capture Lydia Celebrating Her Husband’s Performance

One of the most noticeable moments came in the second quarter when Fagnano completed a four-yard run to secure a first down for Baltimore.

As the rookie celebrated the important play, the broadcast quickly switched to Lydia, who was seen applauding enthusiastically and nodding in approval from the stands.

She was also captured dancing and enjoying the atmosphere during another Ravens possession, prompting further attention from viewers.

Before the game, the couple had shared an affectionate moment on the sidelines.

A video published by Prime Video on X showed them embracing and kissing before Fagnano prepared to take his first NFL snap.

In the clip, Lydia could be heard encouraging her husband, telling him: “Love you! Have fun!”

Broadcast Reveals How Lydia Helped Fagnano Prepare

During the game, Prime Video commentators also shared details about the role Lydia played in helping her husband prepare for his opportunity with the Ravens.

Commentator Al Michaels explained that Fagnano had continued studying plays with his wife even when he was third on the team’s quarterback depth chart.

“Even when he was a third-string guy, he’s prepping with his wife, going over plays and she’s challenging him on different calls.

Just in case, if his number is called, he’ll be ready to go,” Michaels said.

The broadcast subsequently showed Lydia again, this time dancing in the stands as she followed the action.

NFL Fans React to Repeated Camera Shots of Lydia

The frequent appearances of Fagnano’s wife did not go unnoticed by viewers watching the game.

Social media users began commenting on the broadcast’s repeated decision to show Lydia whenever the rookie quarterback was involved in the action.

One viewer wrote: “The cameraman’s finding Joe Fagnano’s wife after every play.”

The attention came as Fagnano experienced an unexpected opportunity to lead Baltimore after injuries to the team’s first two quarterbacks.

Jacoby Brissett Set to Replace Fagnano as Ravens Starter

Despite receiving the opportunity to start against Jacksonville, Fagnano is not expected to retain the position for Baltimore’s next game.

The Ravens have agreed a deal with the Arizona Cardinals to acquire quarterback Jacoby Brissett, with NFL insider Ian Rapoport reporting on Wednesday that the teams were finalising the trade ahead of its expected completion over the weekend.

Brissett is expected to take over as Baltimore’s starting quarterback in Week 10 when the Ravens face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.

The move follows a difficult spell for Brissett in Arizona.

He had emerged as a potential trade candidate after being benched during the Cardinals’ game against the Dallas Cowboys before subsequently dropping to third on the team’s quarterback depth chart.

Brissett started Arizona’s first eight games of the season, recording three wins and five losses while completing 63.3 per cent of his passes.

Fagnano was therefore expected to make his first NFL start against Jacksonville before handing over the starting responsibilities to Brissett for Baltimore’s next fixture.
