In a daylight heist, a gunman takes a $8k gold necklace from a delivery driver’s neck and shoots his leg

An armed bandit assaulted a NYC delivery driver in broad daylight before shooting him in the leg and stealing his $8,000 gold necklace, according to New York City police.

The event was captured on video by the NYPD, which showed a tall, skinny gunman in a gray zip-up approaching the 55-year-old delivery guy and taking out a revolver on East 129th Street in East Harlem at 1.30 p.m. on Monday.

The assailant, who is believed to be in his 30s, is seen on the video running up to the victim while opening the back of his delivery truck.

Drawing his weapon, the gunman goes for the man’s neck and grabs his chain.

The two men fight briefly, with the aggressor pointing a revolver at the victim’s chest.

As they continue to struggle, the delivery driver pushes the weapons away.

According to authorities, the gunman then shot the man in the knee before snatching the pricey necklace from his neck and escaping in a black BMW.

According to authorities, the victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospital in Harlem, where he was treated and released.

The NYPD is now seeking public assistance in identifying the gunman, who has a ‘black complexion, [weighing around] 180 pounds, and is roughly 5-foot-9-inches tall with a slim build,’ according to authorities.

The NYPD said in a statement that he was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, light blue trousers, and white sneakers.

The tragedy is yet another heinous act committed in New York City, which continues to deteriorate.

In the city, overall violent crime is up 38.4%, with robbery up nearly 40%.

Although the number of shootings has decreased in recent months, down 7.1 percent from the same period last year, the frequency of these incidents remains historically high.

Mayor Eric Adams, 61, has pledged to reduce violence in New York and even donned a ‘End Gun Violence’ jacket to last month’s Met Gala.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, on the other hand, blasted the incoming mayor, saying he’hasn’t done a single thing’ to address the problem since taking office in January.

Giuliani, who served as mayor from January 1994 to December 2001, was also critical of the mayor’s social calendar and constant partying, whether it was attending theater premieres, traveling to the West Coast to mingle with celebrities and billionaires, or attending the Republican National Convention.

Last month, Giuliani told the New York Post, “Adams hasn’t done a darn thing.” ‘So far, he’s been America’s largest new mayor flop.’ In my lifetime, he is the biggest failure of any new first-year mayor in New York City.’

Giuliani, who became America’s Mayor after guiding the city through the horrors of 9/11 before becoming a punching bag for his backing of Donald Trump, also advised Adams to keep his social interactions to a minimum until he has made significant progress.
