A horrifying crime in Los Angeles’ Antelope Valley claimed three lives early Saturday morning.
Authorities responded to a late-night shooting at a home that was later found ablaze, leaving the community in shock.
Emergency Response to a Chaotic Scene
Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene around 1:30 a.m. to find the house engulfed in flames.
Inside, five individuals were discovered.
Four had suffered gunshot wounds, while a fifth person was found hiding in a room, reportedly fearing for her life.
Three victims died, and one was hospitalized with injuries.
Uncertainty About the Suspect’s Status
Initial reports suggested that a suspect had been detained.
However, conflicting updates later emerged. Lt. Steve De Jong from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that authorities were unsure if the suspect was in custody, on the run, or among the deceased.
“We still don’t know what caused this or what happened. Interviews are ongoing to determine the suspect’s identity and location,” he said.
Victims and Firefighters’ Efforts
The identities of the victims remain undisclosed, but officials confirmed that the deceased were young adults in their 20s.
Two were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third passed away despite paramedics’ efforts to revive them.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes, though the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Detectives and arson investigators worked through the morning, collecting evidence and attempting to unravel the sequence of events.
Footage from the scene showed first responders racing to assist victims amidst the chaos.
