Renowned Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, expressed awe and admiration during his recent visit to the Dangote Oil Refinery and Petrochemicals, declaring it a historic moment for Nigeria.

Congratulatory Remarks to Aliko Dangote

In a post shared on his social media platform on Wednesday, Otedola extended congratulations to Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, commending the establishment of the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery.

Dangote Refinery: The 8th Wonder of the World

Otedola went on to describe the Dangote Oil Refinery, which has recently initiated production, as the “8th wonder of the world,” emphasizing its monumental scale and significance.

Ongoing Operations and Guinness World Record Recognition

Highlighting the refinery’s achievements, Otedola stated, “Today I visited the 8th wonder of the world: the Dangote Oil Refinery, which just started production.”

He specifically praised Dangote for securing a place in the Guinness Book of Records for having the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery.

Commencement of Production and Inauguration by Former President Buhari

Recalling key milestones, the Dangote Refinery commenced production of diesel and aviation fuel on January 12, 2023.

The refinery, boasting a substantial 650,000 barrel-per-day oil processing capacity, was officially inaugurated by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Shipment Details and Operations Preparation

Before initiating operations, the refinery received six shipments, each consisting of one million barrels of crude cargo.

This preparatory phase marked a crucial step towards the commencement of full-scale production.

Otedola’s Previous Endorsement and Environmental Advocacy

Looking back to December 10, 2023, Femi Otedola had previously lauded the Dangote Refinery as a “beacon of hope” for millions of Nigerians and Africans.

He underscored its role in championing environmental sustainability and positioning itself as a transformative force for the region.
