The popular security guards known as Happie Boys have responded to Port Harcourt-based pastor, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, regarding his plans to bring them back to Nigeria to resume their studies.
Previously, the Happie Boys, who were studying in Cyprus, claimed that the pastor had stopped sponsoring them, leading to their inability to continue their education due to financial constraints.
In response to the situation, Apostle Chibuzor took to his official Facebook page to address the matter.
He explained that he had temporarily paused the funding of the scholarship due to the high dollar exchange rate, which had become burdensome for him considering the large number of students—over 4000—under his scholarship programs.
The pastor communicated the situation to parents and provided them with an alternative option, allowing their children to continue their studies at any university in Nigeria or the Benin Republic.
Apostle Chibuzor’s Forgiveness and Scholarship Restoration
Apostle Chibuzor concluded his statement by expressing his forgiveness towards the Happie Boys and assuring them that their scholarship would be restored in any university in Nigeria or the Benin Republic.
He mentioned that arrangements were being made for the boys to return to Nigeria.
Happie Boys’ Response and Decline of the Offer
In a video shared online, the viral former security guards expressed their gratitude to Apostle Chibuzor and apologized for the events that unfolded between them.
However, they firmly declined the offer of continuing their scholarship in Nigeria or any other country, emphasizing that they have no intentions of returning.
Despite the pastor’s efforts to restore their scholarship and bring them back to Nigeria, the Happie Boys have made their decision known, indicating that they will not be accepting the offer.
