Former Lands Commissioner Wilson Gachanja is being detained by EACC for illicit acquisition of public land by private developers

Former Lands Commissioner Wilson Gachanja was detained by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for illegally acquiring a Sh30 million beach plot in Diani.

According to the anti-corruption organization, Zablon Mabeya, a former Senior Lands official in charge of Coast Province, and Jabu Salim Mohamed, a former Physical Planner at the Ministry, were both arrested for assisting the illicit acquisition of public land by private developers.

According to the EACC, the three are on their way to Nairobi for further processing before being arraigned in Mombasa Law Court on Tuesday.
