Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has come to the defense of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, amid accusations of financial impropriety.
The Zamfara State Government alleged that Matawalle was involved in embezzlement, specifically related to the state cargo airport project.
The accusations also include instructing the withdrawal of N1 billion from the local government joint account and paying N825 million to contractors without proper valuation.

According to him, the intention behind these claims is to discredit and destroy Matawalle’s reputation.
