In a stunning development, federal agents have arrested Linda Sun, a former deputy chief of staff to New York Governor Kathy Hochul, along with her husband, Chris Hu.
The couple was apprehended at their luxurious $4.1 million home in Manhasset, Long Island, following a federal raid that took place in July.

According to federal prosecutors, Sun, 41, is accused of covertly working as an agent for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Sun’s public service career spans nearly 15 years, beginning as the chief of staff for New York State Assembly member Grace Meng.
She later held various roles under former Governor Andrew Cuomo, including Global New York Trade Manager and Queens Regional Representative.
In 2021, she was appointed as deputy chief of staff to Governor Hochul, a position she held for 15 months.
However, Sun’s career took a sharp turn in March 2023, when she was fired from her role at the New York Department of Labor, where she briefly served as deputy commissioner for strategic business development.
