“Dubai Clinches Top Spot in 2024 Tripadvisor Awards”
For the third consecutive year, Dubai has secured the prestigious title of the most popular destination globally according to the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
The accolades, determined by the volume and quality of reviews and ratings on accommodations, dining, and activities from travelers between October 2022 and September 2023, solidify Dubai’s status as a dream destination.

Tripadvisor praised Dubai for its unmatched allure, describing the city as an embodiment of extravagance, from the ultramodern Burj Khalifa to bustling souks adorned with gold and jewelry vendors.
The city’s offerings, ranging from indoor skiing, desert dune-surfing, to thrilling zip-lining adventures, exemplify its limitless possibilities for travelers.
“London Secures Europe’s Top Spot in Global Ranking”
Meanwhile, London, retaining its supremacy as Europe’s leading destination and securing the third position globally, reaffirms its timeless appeal.
Bali, Indonesia, grabbed the second position globally, while Hanoi, Vietnam, and Rome, Italy, secured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
“Top Rankings Across Different Categories”
The awards also highlighted the top-performing destinations in various categories. Tokyo claimed the ‘Trending Destinations’ crown, with Seoul, South Korea, and Halong Bay, Vietnam, securing the second and third positions.
Kathmandu topped the ‘Best of the Best Nature Destinations,’ followed by Halong Bay and Hurghada, Egypt, in second and third positions.
“Cultural and Culinary Delights”
Cuba emerged as the leader in the ‘Best of the Best Culture Destinations,’ joined by Cusco, Peru, and Agra, India, in the top three.
Hanoi, Vietnam, claimed the pinnacle in the ‘Best of the Best Food Destinations,’ showcasing its gastronomic richness, while destinations like New York City, Oahu, and Las Vegas topped the list within the U.S.
“New Categories: Sustainability and Honeymoon Destinations”
Tripadvisor introduced new categories for ‘Sustainable Destinations’ and ‘Honeymoon Destinations,’ where cities like Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Bordeaux excelled in sustainability, while Bali, Hoi An, and the Maldives stood out as top honeymoon spots.

Sarah Firshein, head of editorial at Tripadvisor, noted the trend indicating a widespread interest in vibrant cultural scenes and outstanding dining experiences.
The rebound of long-haul trips to Asia post-pandemic also signifies travelers’ eagerness to explore and embrace new experiences.
