Claret Capital Partners has secured €575 million for its latest European growth debt vehicle, strengthening the firm’s ability to provide flexible financing to high-growth businesses across the continent.

The London-based independent fund manager said it had completed the final close of the Claret European Growth Capital Fund IV, with the new capital coming from a broad group of institutional and private wealth investors.

Fund Combines Institutional Commitments and Discretionary Mandates

The €575 million raised consists of €440 million in commitments to Fund IV and a further €135 million through affiliated discretionary mandates.

Claret said the fund attracted support from its established institutional investor base, including pension funds, insurance companies, family offices and other public and institutional investors.

Private wealth investors also participated through an European Long-Term Investment Fund (ELTIF) structure.

The successful fundraising provides Claret with additional resources to support businesses that need growth capital without taking on the level of equity dilution often associated with traditional financing.

Capital Targets Europe’s Fast-Growing Innovators

Fund IV is designed to provide flexible, low-dilution financing to companies pursuing ambitious growth plans.

Its capital can be used for initiatives including international expansion, strategic acquisitions and the development of new products.

Since the fund began deploying capital, Claret has backed more than 27 companies operating across a range of innovative industries.

Its portfolio includes Billie, a business-to-business buy-now-pay-later platform; Cinclus Pharma, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company; PRODA, a commercial real estate software provider; Inventiva, a clinical-stage biotechnology business; and Surfe, a B2B sales-intelligence platform.

Claret said the fund has already deployed approximately 32 per cent of its total capital, highlighting the pace at which financing is being directed toward companies seeking to scale.

Claret’s Portfolio Reaches More Than 210 Companies

The latest fundraising adds to a wider track record of investment across Europe’s technology, life sciences and impact sectors.

Since its establishment, Claret has deployed more than €1.5 billion across over 210 companies, building a broad portfolio of businesses at different stages of development.

The firm’s previous vehicle, Fund III, reached its €297 million final close in 2022.

Since then, several companies backed by the fund have completed successful exits.

Those transactions include Cytora, which was acquired by Applied Systems; Endomag, acquired by Hologic; Logpoint, acquired by Summa Equity; Lyst, acquired by ZOZO; and Tiqets, acquired by Expedia.

Claret has also seen successful public-market outcomes among its investments, including Abivax, which completed an initial public offering on Nasdaq.

Firm Plans Further European Expansion

The completion of Fund IV’s fundraising is also set to support Claret’s continued expansion across Europe’s major innovation centres.

The firm plans to strengthen its pan-European platform by increasing its local presence in key technology and innovation hubs.

New team members are already based in Paris, while the company is preparing to establish an additional presence in Berlin.

The strategy reflects Claret’s focus on maintaining close relationships with entrepreneurs and businesses across different European markets rather than operating solely from its London base.

Bateman and Kampe Lead Claret

Claret Capital Partners is led by Managing Partners David Bateman and Johan Kampe, who oversee the firm’s growth debt investment strategy.

With €575 million now committed to Fund IV and a substantial portion already deployed, the latest fund represents another major step in Claret’s efforts to provide alternative growth financing to European businesses.
