Charly Boy’s Decision to Stay in Nigeria Despite Election Loss

…By Dorcas Funmi for TDPel Media. Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, had previously declared his intention to relocate from Nigeria if either Bola Tinubu or Atiku Abubakar won the 2023 presidential election.

However, despite his preferred candidate, Peter Obi’s loss at the polls, Charly Boy has decided to stay in the country.

In a recent disclosure on his Twitter handle, he explained the reason behind his choice to remain in Nigeria, expressing hope for a positive turnaround.

Staying Hopeful Amidst Election Loss:

Charly Boy had made a public statement over a year ago, asserting that he would leave Nigeria if the presidential election was won by either the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu, or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

In the February 25th election, Tinubu emerged as the winner and was subsequently sworn in as president on May 29th.

Despite this outcome, Charly Boy has not shown any indication of carrying out his initial promise to leave the country.

The Reasoning Behind His Decision:

On a recent occasion, Charly Boy took to his Twitter handle to explain his decision to remain in Nigeria, despite his preferred candidate’s defeat.

He stated that he is choosing to stay because he continues to hold hope for a better future.

Despite the challenges and uncertainties he sees in the country, he remains optimistic that positive changes will eventually come.

Renewed Hope, Thanks to Peter Obi:

Charly Boy expressed his gratitude to Peter Obi for renewing his hope in Nigeria.

While his favored candidate might not have won the election, Obi’s impact and influence have evidently left a positive impression on the veteran entertainer.

Charly Boy’s renewed hope reflects his belief in the potential for positive developments and progress in Nigeria, despite the current difficulties and “Potopoto” (referring to chaotic or troubling situations) he perceives.

Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, has decided not to relocate from Nigeria despite the loss of his preferred presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the 2023 polls.

He remains hopeful and optimistic about the future of the country, citing the impact of influential figures like Peter Obi as a reason for his renewed hope.

Charly Boy’s decision to stay signifies his belief that positive changes are possible and that his aspirations for a better Nigeria persist even in the face of disappointment.
