This follows troubling news about the disappearance of minors and the identification of a gang involved in child trafficking.
Alarming Developments
In a circular letter dated September 17, Bishop Ramón Castro of Cuernavaca expressed his concerns about the rising number of reported missing children.
He pointed out that the media has confirmed the existence of a gang specializing in child abduction, a situation that authorities are taking very seriously.
One of the most shocking incidents involved a baby named Joshua, who was kidnapped in Cuautla, Morelos, on July 2.
Fortunately, local news outlet La Jornada reported that Joshua, along with other missing children, was rescued on September 17.
This rescue operation was a collaborative effort by the Office of the Attorney General and the Secretariat of National Defense in Chiapas.
Actions Taken
As of September 17, five individuals have been arrested in connection with the investigation into this child trafficking operation.
This highlights the urgent need for vigilance in the community, as statistics show that since October 1, 2018, when Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo became governor of Morelos, there have been a staggering 379 reports of missing minors, predominantly involving girls.
