The Oyo State Police Command disclosed the apprehension of around 207 individuals throughout 2023 for diverse offenses.

Commissioner Adebola Hamzat made this revelation at the command headquarters while presenting an additional 38 suspects linked to varying degrees of criminal activities across multiple locations.

The disclosed seizures since January comprised 50 stolen vehicles, 46 motorcycles/tricycles, 108 firearms, and 721 rounds of ammunition in different calibers.

Among those paraded were suspects involved in land grabs, kidnapping, and armed robbery.

Various items, including vehicles, firearms, cell phones, and mystical objects, were discovered among the apprehended individuals.

Adewale Osifeso, acting on behalf of CP Hamzat, led the display of the suspects captured from their respective hideouts.

In a directive issued by the Commissioner of Police, heightened security measures were outlined for critical infrastructures, public spaces, media houses, and other essential locations within and beyond the state.

Notably, an emphasis was placed on increased supervision of officers to prevent professional misconduct and ensure efficient policing.
