Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Two Ladoke Akintola University Students and Bus Driver in Osun State
Two final-year students from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo state lost their lives in a fatal accident that occurred in Osun state.
Fiery Collision in Osun State
The accident also claimed the life of the driver of the 18-seater bus that caught fire in the Ojutu neighborhood of the Ilobu, Irepodun local government area of Osun state.
Eyewitness Accounts: Mazda Bus Explodes in Flames
Eyewitnesses in the area reported that the Mazda bus exploded in flames at high speed, killing the three victims instantly while injuring five others with various burn injuries.
Confirmation by Road Safety Authority
Agnes Ogungbemi, the Osun Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp, confirmed the incident on Thursday.
She said it was caused by speeding and a loss of control.
Medical Response: Injured Victims Taken to Hospitals
She continued by saying that while some of the injured people were taken to Uniosun Teaching Hospital in Osogbo, others were taken to a private hospital in the city.
Evidence at the Scene: Police Recover Cell Phones
She continued by saying that the police received the three cell phones that were found at the scene.
Road Safety Warning: Exercise Caution
Henry Benamaisia, the sector commander, urged drivers to exercise caution on public roads to prevent needless fatalities.
